SEOwriting.ai Review 2026: AI Content Tool Put to the Test
SEOwriting is an AI platform for the automated creation of SEO articles – from keyword input to a finished, illustrated blog post, including optional social media posts. We tested SEOwriting step by step with our own Free plan account – from the configuration form through article generation to the monthly word allowance. This hands-on review shows how good the results really are and where the Free plan’s limits lie.

What Is SEOwriting?
SEOwriting is an AI platform for the automated creation of SEO-optimised articles. Its core tool is “1-Click Blog Post”: from a keyword, a title and a wide range of settings for tone, length, structure and target market, the AI generates a complete, ready-structured article – optionally including AI images, YouTube video embedding and accompanying social media posts.
In our own test with a Free plan account, the configuration form proved very extensive: Core Settings (language, article type, length), Content Settings (tone, target country), AI Settings (model, readability), Brand Voice, a free-text field “Details to Include”, a Media Hub for AI images and video, SEO keywords, and individually togglable structure elements such as tables, FAQs or key takeaways.
Core Features of SEOwriting
The feature set of the “1-Click Blog Post” form covers practically the entire journey from keyword idea to a publish-ready article.
- 1-Click Blog Post: Generates a complete article from a main keyword and title, including outline, body copy and optional structure elements.
- Media Hub: Free AI image generation via Z-Image (Pro) and FLUX.1 (Lite), with optional YouTube video embedding and brand-name tagging.
- Structure toggles: Individually togglable elements such as conclusion, tables, H3 subheadings, lists, quotes, key takeaways and an FAQ section.
- Internal/external linking: Promoted automatic linking – on the Free plan, however, limited to “None”; “Automatic” and “Custom” are premium features.
- AI model selection: Alongside a “Default” model, named models with real-time SERP access are advertised, but locked on the Free plan.
- Syndication: Generates social media posts (including Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, email, WhatsApp, Pinterest) in the same run, with no separate allowance.
- Outline editor and publishing: The outline can be adjusted before final generation; a direct publishing connection is built into the form (not used in our Free plan test).
Advantages of SEOwriting
The biggest practical advantage is the range of settings available in a single form: tone, length, target country, structure elements and image generation can all be fine-tuned before generation, rather than reworking the article manually afterwards.
In our own test, the generated German article was consistently coherent and factually accurate in how it assigned the topics covered, including three comparison tables and a seven-item FAQ section – structured to be directly usable in WordPress.
AI image generation via Z-Image and FLUX.1 is available on the Free plan at no extra cost, and the Syndication feature delivers matching social media post drafts within the same credit run – a noticeable time saving compared with tools that require a separate step for this.
Who Should Use SEOwriting?
SEOwriting is aimed primarily at content marketers, bloggers and small editorial teams who want a structured, publish-ready article draft from a keyword, quickly.
Bloggers and solo content creators benefit from the extensive form, which lets you specify an article’s tone, length and structure precisely before generation, rather than reworking a rough AI draft afterwards.
Users with occasional, one-off content needs can use the Free plan to try the tool on their own article without commitment – though in our own test the monthly word allowance was enough for exactly one medium-length article.
Less suitable is SEOwriting on the Free plan for anyone who relies on automatic internal or external linking – this feature is structurally limited to paid plans – for users who regularly need several articles per month, and for anyone who specifically wants to work with one of the named, potentially more capable AI models instead of the default model.

The table below shows the free plan’s allowances compared with the paid tiers, independent of price:
| Plan | Ideal for | Highlights |
|---|---|---|
| Free | Risk-free testing | 3 credits, 25,000 words/month, free AI image generation (Z-Image, FLUX.1); internal/external linking and named AI models locked |
| Starter | Individual users with light needs | Lowest-cost paid entry point |
| Professional | Regular content needs | Mid-tier plan |
| Pro Plus 1 | Teams with high article volume | Marked by SEOwriting as “Most Popular” |
| Pro Plus 2 | Agencies, high-volume writers | Top regular tier |
Note: Prices can change at any time; the pricing table above automatically shows the current amounts. Detailed feature differences between the paid plans (e.g. exact word or credit allowances) were not fully researched at the time of this test – it is worth checking the official pricing page before purchasing.
An important finding from our own testing: on the Free plan, the monthly word allowance is the actual limiting factor, not the separately displayed 3 credits – a single medium-length article used up the entire 25,000-word allowance in our test. A generation run that fails due to the word limit still consumes a credit without producing any content. The full test walkthrough.
Our SEOwriting Review
SEOwriting impresses in testing with consistently coherent, factually accurate article text and a very finely adjustable generation form. However, hands-on testing also shows that core features such as automatic linking and named AI models are strictly reserved for paid plans, and that the Free plan’s word allowance is too tight for regular use. This assessment is based on our own hands-on test with a Free plan account; a separate evaluation of independent user review platforms such as G2 or Capterra was not carried out for SEOwriting as part of this test.
Overall Rating
| Category | Weight | Score | Rationale |
|---|---|---|---|
| Output Quality & Accuracy | 25% | 7.5/10 | Coherent, factually well-assigned article text with a clean H2/H3 structure and 3 comparison tables; one AI typo was noticed during testing. |
| Feature Set | 20% | 8.0/10 | Extensive configuration form (Media Hub, structure toggles, Syndication) plus automatic linking and named AI models on the paid plans – a very broad feature set across the product as a whole, even though core features are locked on the Free plan. |
| Factual Reliability | 15% | 8.0/10 | Correct assignment of all comparison tools covered in our own test, with no noticeable false claims; caveat: this assessment is currently based on a single generated article. |
| Practical Fit | 10% | 7.5/10 | The extensive, practice-oriented configuration form for SEO articles, with structure, image and social-post options, makes the tool as a whole well suited to everyday use; on the Free plan, practical fit was noticeably limited by the tight word allowance. |
| Language Coverage | 10% | 7.5/10 | The German test article read cleanly with no noticeable translation artefacts; an English test run could not be completed due to allowance limits. |
| Value for Money | 10% | 7.5/10 | The paid plans are reasonably positioned for the feature set on offer (linking, AI model choice, higher allowances); the Free plan alone, by contrast, offers only a narrow testing allowance. |
| Usability | 5% | 8.0/10 | Clearly organised form (Core/Content/AI Settings, Media Hub, structure toggles) with understandable error messages when premium features are locked. |
| Privacy & Compliance | 5% | 6.0/10 | No publicly available, explicit GDPR contract documentation was reviewed during testing. |
| Overall Score | 100% | 7.6/10 | A solid, functionally broad AI writing tool with clean text output and reasonably priced paid plans; the Free plan alone is, from a practical standpoint, suited to only a single test article per month. |
Note: The score and weighting are an editorial proposal and are subject to final review before publication.
Strengths
- Consistently coherent, factually well-assigned article text with a clean H2/H3 structure, comparison tables and an FAQ section – ready to use directly in WordPress.
- A very finely adjustable generation form (tone, length, target country, structure elements) instead of manual reworking afterwards.
- Automatic generation of a topically relevant AI header image at no extra cost (Z-Image, FLUX.1).
- Social media post generation (Syndication) included in the same credit run, with no separate allowance.
Weaknesses
- The Free plan is practically usable for only 1 article per month – the 25,000-word allowance is used up after a single medium-length article, even though 3 credits are shown separately.
- A run that fails due to the word limit still consumes a credit without delivering any content.
- Automatic internal and external linking is structurally locked on the Free plan and does not work reliably via the “Details to Include” free-text field either – desired links must be added manually.
- Named, potentially more capable AI models are completely locked on the Free plan; only the default model is usable.
- A few minor typos in the generated text were noticed during testing.
Our Experience with SEOwriting
For this test, we worked through the entire journey with our own Free plan account, from the initial article configuration to a fully used-up word allowance – without any real purchase or upgrade, staying strictly within the free account’s scope. The steps below show what using SEOwriting actually feels like in practice.
Step 1: Dashboard and Free Plan Scope
After logging in, the dashboard shows the available allowance right away: 3 credits and 25,000 words per month, both completely unused at the start of the test. Even at this stage it becomes clear that SEOwriting runs two parallel budgets – credits per generation run and a separate word allowance – whose interplay only becomes apparent later in testing.

Step 2: Article Configuration in Detail
The “1-Click Blog Post” form offers a “Details to Include” free-text field, hard-capped at 1,000 characters, plus a Media Hub for AI image selection. For the test, we entered specific extra requests here – including a request to include certain external links, which later turned out, in the finished article, not to have been implemented reliably (see step 4).

Step 3: Internal/External Linking in the Form
SEOwriting advertises its own form section for automatic internal and external linking directly within the article text – at first glance, a strong argument for SEO editorial teams who want to build in affiliate or internal links systematically.

Step 4: Premium Locks on Linking
Opening the linking dropdown quickly reveals the catch: “Automatic” and “Custom” are locked on the Free plan, leaving only “None” usable. The practical consequence – confirmed by a script check of the finished article – was that the delavo.de links requested in the free-text field were not carried over into the text and had to be added manually.

Step 5: Paywall Modal on Premium Features
Other form sections too (for example, selecting named AI models) consistently trigger the same paywall modal, “Premium Feature – Subscribers Only”, complete with displayed discount codes for switching plans. The lock logic came across as consistent and transparently communicated during testing, not hidden.

Step 6: Finished German Article with AI Image
The generated German comparison article was convincing content-wise: consistently coherent text, correct factual assignment of the tools covered, three comparison tables, a seven-item FAQ section and a topically relevant AI header image. A minor typo in one subheading was the only content issue noticed.

Step 7: Word Allowance Already Used Up After One Article
The billing overview after the German article generation held a surprise: 25,000 of 25,000 words were already used up – by a single medium-length article. Of the separately displayed 3 credits, only 1 had been used at that point, showing that in practice it is the word allowance, not the credits, that is the limiting factor.

Step 8: Second Article Failed Due to Word Limit
The attempt to additionally generate the same article in English immediately ended with the status “Stopped” and the error message “Word limit exceeded”. Despite the failed run, an additional credit was consumed without producing any English content – a clear loss from the user’s point of view, which we treat as a relevant weakness in our rating.

Pricing in Detail
Compared directly with specialised text tools such as QuillBot or Rytr, SEOwriting initially appears functionally broader, thanks to its extensive configuration form and included image and social post generation. The catch only shows up in day-to-day use of the Free plan: the word allowance is so tight that the full feature set can realistically only be tried once a month, and a failed run still costs a credit.
If you mainly use SEOwriting for the occasional single article, weigh the paid plans realistically against your own monthly word needs. Detailed allowance figures for the individual paid tiers were not available at the time of this test – it is worth checking the official pricing page before purchasing.
Key Alternatives for SEOwriting
| Tool | Advantage over SEOwriting | Disadvantage vs. SEOwriting | When It’s the Better Choice |
|---|---|---|---|
| QuillBot | Market-leading paraphrasing in 8+ modes, strong browser integration for existing text | No full AI article generator, no integrated image generation | When existing text needs a language rework rather than being generated from scratch |
| Rytr | Very affordable entry-level pricing, wide range of short-form templates | Less geared towards long, structured SEO articles with tables/FAQs | For frequent short marketing copy rather than long blog articles |
| Consensus | Citable, source-based answers drawn from scientific studies | No article generator, no SEO focus | For research questions requiring scientific evidence rather than a finished blog article |
| Nouswise | Answers from a self-curated, vetted knowledge base with source references | No article generator, no SEO focus | For research within your own vetted document collections rather than content creation |
SEOwriting, QuillBot, Rytr, Consensus or Nouswise: Which Tool When?
All five tools sit within delavo.de’s Writing & Research category, but each has a different focus. SEOwriting is the right choice when you want a complete, structured SEO article, including images, built from a single keyword. QuillBot comes into its own once existing text needs a language rework or a summary. Rytr is the more affordable choice for short marketing copy in many formats. Consensus and Nouswise are not content generators but research assistants for citable or source-based answers – a useful addition as a research source before the actual article generation with SEOwriting.
| Tool | Focus | Ideal for | Less suitable for |
|---|---|---|---|
| SEOwriting | AI generation of complete SEO articles including images | Bloggers, content marketers, small editorial teams | Users who only want to rework existing text |
| QuillBot | Paraphrasing and text optimisation | Students, academics, reworking existing text | Creating complete SEO articles from scratch |
| Rytr | Short-form text generation | Marketers who need short, affordable copy | Long, structured SEO articles |
| Consensus | Scientific research | Citable, source-based research | Content creation |
| Nouswise | Research within your own knowledge base | Organisations with their own document collections | Content creation |
Our Verdict on SEOwriting
SEOwriting impresses in testing with a very finely adjustable generation form and consistently coherent, factually accurate article output, including free AI image generation and ready-made social media post drafts.
Anyone who regularly needs several articles a month, or who relies on automatic internal/external linking, will need to invest in a paid plan to get it – on the Free plan, precisely these points are noticeably limited, and a run that fails due to the word limit still costs a credit.
Rating: Recommended for bloggers and content marketers who occasionally want a complete, well-structured article draft from a keyword – second choice for users who need several articles a month or reliable automatic linking on a regular basis.

In practice, the two tools complement each other more than they replace one another.
Is SEOwriting GDPR-compliant?
Before using it in production, you should review SEOwriting’s specific contract documentation and data processing agreements before processing the personal data of European users. This cannot replace individual legal advice. Detailed data protection notes →
Is social media post generation (Syndication) a paid feature on SEOwriting?
No – in our own test, the Syndication feature for social media posts (including Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, email, WhatsApp, Pinterest) was included within the same credit run and did not use up any separate allowance.
How does delavo.de rate SEOwriting overall?
Our proposed rating is 7.6 out of 10 points, based on our own hands-on test with a Free plan account – a separate evaluation of independent platforms such as G2 or Capterra was not factored in.
